Laura Otto, Suzuki School Director, Dolce String Ensemble Conductor, Chamber Strings Coach
Laura earned her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from Bradley University, where she served as concertmaster of the Bradley Symphony Orchestra and was the winner of the Concerto-Aria Competition. She has performed with the Peoria Symphony Orchestra, Heartland Festival Orchestra, Aria International Music Academy, Nebraska Chamber Music Institute, and Domaine Forget International Music Academy.
With over 25 years of teaching experience in the Peoria area, Laura has taught both privately and at the Sun Foundation Suzuki School of Music. She is an active member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas (SAA) and has received Suzuki training from the American Suzuki Institute, Chicago Suzuki Institute, and Colorado Suzuki Institute. Among her influential instructors are Karin Kelleher, Marcia Henry Liebenow, Kate Hamilton, and Sarah Gentry.
Currently, Laura serves as the Director of the YMI Suzuki School of Music, where she also directs the Dolce String Ensemble and coaches the YS String Quartets. Outside of her professional commitments, Laura and her husband, Ryan, enjoy supporting their children in their diverse music and athletic pursuits.
