Stephanie Cannon,  Violin
Stephanie Cannon is passionate about teaching Suzuki violin and feels privileged to be able to share the joy of music with her students. At age six, she started taking violin lessons through the Sun Foundation Suzuki Program in Peoria. She loved growing up attending Suzuki summer institutes in Colorado, Wisconsin, and Michigan and connecting with Suzuki students from across the U.S. and abroad. She also enjoyed playing in the Central Illinois youth orchestras and chamber music groups.Stephanie continued her education at Bradley University, where she studied violin with Marcia Henry Liebenow and was a co-winner of the 2021 Bradley Concerto-Aria Competition. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance in 2022. After graduation, Stephanie moved to Texas to work for the Gail Key Academy of Music, teaching Suzuki violin and co-directing the Suzuki program. She has received Suzuki teacher training at the American Suzuki Institute and the Ithaca Suzuki Institute and is registered through Violin Book 5. Stephanie currently plays with the Illinois Valley Symphony Orchestra and enjoys dabbling with Irish fiddle music.
