60th Anniversary Celebration - Alumni Concert!

This year marks the 60th season of the Central Illinois Youth Symphony! This year has been an exciting year for our students, with new educational opportunities, a side-by-side performance with the Heartland Festival Orchestra, and new compositions to be performed in our upcoming concert. In celebration of our 60th birthday, we invite alumni to come back and play with us on a concert at Five Points in Washington on May 3, 2026. We have a few branching paths to take, and you can choose to play in all of them if you wish. 

Youth Symphony

Alumni are invited to join us as the students play Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture to close out the celebratory 60th Anniversary Concert.

Concert Orchestra

Alumni are invited to play all of the Concert Orchestra pieces, which include two world premieres, Bizet's Farandole, and a strings-only arrangement of Across the Stars from Star Wars.

Jazz

Students and alumni will play together and separately for a celebration of our jazz program across the ages. The pieces chosen are a representative sample of music played in each of the last 8 years.
